Our FA Cup and Carabao Cup campaigns are at contrasting stages, with the pursuit of the former facing its first hurdle at Carrow Road today, while in the other domestic cup we are one two-legged semi-final away from a place at Wembley.
Hazard is a doubt for the FA Cup tie against Norwich after a kick on the calf, but he will be eager to play his part if fit and called upon, as it is a competition he is very keen to succeed in.
‘I have never won the FA Cup so I want that,’ Hazard pointed out. ‘Last year we played in the final but I want to win this trophy. This trophy is important for the club, they won it a lot of times and I signed for Chelsea to win this sort of trophy, so we are going to give everything against Norwich and if we go through, give everything against the other teams because we want this trophy.
‘Back in the past I always watched the final because it is the last game of the season and in Belgium and when I was playing in France, the league was finished so the only game on TV was the FA Cup final. So good memories and a good game to watch.
‘For Norwich it is a good game to play [today], but for us also it is an important game so we will give everything and I hope to win again.’
On Wednesday, we commence the Carabao Cup semi against Arsenal and although the target is a better result than the draw against the Gunners in our league meeting three days ago, Hazard is not ruling out more high drama as there was in that match.
‘For the fans I think it is good to watch a game like this. It was a good game of football, a lot of chances, two great goalkeepers, two great teams, and that is why we are playing, to play this type of game.
‘I want to see this kind of game, it is always good. I don’t know if it will be the same team [line-ups] but I think we have two offensive teams who want to score, that is why the game is good to watch.’
