Mr Lissu, appealing to the media for the first time since being admitted to hospital, has been accused of blaming the government of President John Magufuli by oppressing the opponents.
He said he believed the assault against him aimed to silence him due to his regular government revival.
Mr Lissu was citing from Nairobi hospital in Nairobi where he had been receiving treatment for four months now.
The singida East East MP has called for an international community to intervene in saying that the situation in Tanzania has changed dramatically.
Mr Lissu said he is currently convinced that there is no significant investigation on his assault on September 7.
In addition, President John Magufuli, although writing a message on Twitter and also sending his vice-president Samia Suluhu Hassan, has never talked publicly about his assault case.
"Tanzania has turned into a state that is not safe, lawyers can be bombed out by exterminating their customers, a country where lawyers can be defeated, and lawyers are imprisoned," Lissu said.
Mr Lissu said he had recovered and thanked God and all who wanted him for a quick recovery.
